The Nora Roberts meant flying to/from Fencon. Lots more Seanan and tor.com goodness, and giving myself credit for fanfic read and enjoyed. I'd rather turned away from romance novels in recent years, after the epic binges of a few years ago, but read & enjoyed a few this month. Getting to some new mysteries means progress on that to-be-read wall. It seems a healthy mix of genres overall.

And now I'm all caught up, ready for adventures in the new year.

What say y'all?

It's a similar pattern: lots of short stories [thanks, tor.com!], some new mysteries, a little y.a., even some nonfiction! [I don't read much nonfiction, but we watch several shows on BookTV every weekend; then there're science, nature, & history shows on sundry channels...]

That Kerry Greenwood will be the last Phryne for a while, perhaps ever. The author's burned out & not writing for a while. :(

Lots of re-reads, with most of the new reads being mysteries. I read more mysteries than science fiction nowadays, but emotionally still identify primarily as a science fiction fan. [Their conventions are cheaper, look more fun, & come with filk!] Tor.com is a fabulous source of stories, novellas, & book recommendations! Young adult also gets a look-in now & again. There's lots of Mark Reads action; sometimes he gets commissions to just read books, as well as read books & do commentary; hence that particular binge.

The thing to do was mostly binge reads and re-reads. I finished up some Tamora Pierce from the previous year, started Nora Roberts on the plane to & from Conflikt and continued at home. March means spring training. Since I stayed at home, I caught up on Sharon Lee & Steve Miller [like I'd done during an at-home spring training a few years earlier]. There was also lots of Seanan, 'cause she's all prolific like that.
