I think you do fine on posting, but then I'm new at this. I've really enjoyed reading all of your posts so far!
LJ seems to be many things to many people, but what I get out of reading other people's LJ is a feeling that I know what's going on in his/her life. A glimpse at least. A feeling of knowing someone and a connection, similar to the Bujold list.
For myself, the posting is as much for me as it is for others. Because the others don't have to read it if they're bored.
But in posting I feel like I'm telling a friend something, which often makes me feel better about things that are bothering me. Plus, since I haven't really made any friends here in person yet, it's a great outlet. I find it cathartic.
