Having been tagged by mmegaera, behold me all compliance [except the component cowering {effectively, one hopes} in the corner; risk not the wrath of the librarian].

The 5 most effective things to bribe me with (not in order of effectiveness):

1. Cookies 'n cream milkshakes from the local Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House [the restaurant part, 'cause if you sit down, you get the overflow cup, nearly double the stuff!].

2. Grits and scrambled eggs.

3. Chocolate cheesecake decadence.

4. Books by authors I like.

5. That Leslie Fish cd I've been hearing about [and not seeing] since 1998.

We can probably arrange some of these at LA Con. 'Cept for Chick-Fil-A, which we don't have. But I may bring a good bar blender for the Bujold List/Baen Barfly party and we can do our own shake with more cookies!

Which Fish CD?

I was thinking specifically of "Lock & Load", which I've literally been hearing about since the 1998 WorldCon in Baltimore.

Shakes sound good, as does partying with listies & barflies.

More to the immediate point, however, is there reasonably-priced food within [preferably short] walking distance of the con? I figure, who better to ask about such things? :)

One [where one=someone who isn't me ;)] cooks them separately & then mixes them together. This, along with mashed potatoes & English peas, are about the only exception to my separation of food rule. We all have our idiosyncrasies. :)

I see. I have to agree with you about the potatoes and peas.

Peas and pearl onions and cream sauce is also a very palatable combination.

Might have to pick up the ingredients for that tomorrow...
