Inside a filker's head is a very strange place, frequently with a background soundtrack. This is abundantly illustrated by Bill Roper's classic, Pegasus-winning song "My Husband, The Filker" [lyrics here: http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/songs/my-husband-the-filker.html ].
Today I'm running errands, to the library and post office. Yesterday I watched an episode of "American Masters" on PBS about Sam Cooke. Naturally the song running through my head is "You Send Me."
